Altra Custom Manufacturing Inc. expansion and control joint curbs are designed to protect critical roof transitions while maintaining system performance. Expansion joints allow for thermal movement, while control joints divide roof areas for maintenance and replacement.
These curbs provide watertight sealing across joint openings and are constructed from heavy-gauge galvanized steel for durability. Internal reinforcements and pressure-treated wood nailers ensure strength and ease of installation.
Available in multiple configurations, these curbs can be customized to suit various roofing systems and project requirements, offering reliable protection and flexibility.
Roof expansion joints are gaps that are designed into a commercial roof to allow for thermal expansion and contraction of a roof system (or roof and terminating wall). Pate Expansion Joint Curbs (EJ) are designed to prevent leaks across the expansion joint opening.
The primary purpose of a roof control joint is to separate roof areas, or divide areas into smaller sections to facilitate maintenance, or future roof replacement. Unlike an expansion joint, it is not intended to accommodate structural movement. Pate Control Joint Curbs (CJ) are designed to prevent leakage across the roof control joint.
